Photographer !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! had the opportunity to take some shots around the 309th AMARG Airplane Boneyard. He has put some shots up on his website, and they are absolutely amazing. You can view the gallery at his website here: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Mr Lik appears to have limited edition prints for sale, and were I a rich man, I would most definitely be interested as there are a few pictures which are absolutely beautiful.

I'm usually not that crazy about HDR stuff, but some of these are really striking. The ones of the F-16s particularly.

I generally hate HDR, but these are really really well done.

I had that as the lede image here, but decided to go with the flashier colors of the other direction. ALL of the pictures are great.

The composition of a few of them isn't very good, honestly. They are great subjects, but they weren't shot as well as they could have been. I wonder how many pictures he took total, just because the gallery isn't very large. Some of them are great, that being said.

My guess is that he likely shot thousands of shots... And the few that are here are being sold as prints, and while from a documentation perspective, these may not be ideal (I'm not a fan of HDR in general, as it distracts from the subject being the subject), these pictures are all striking and probably look AMAZING as prints.

Eh, the HDR is overdone, but they look nice. I would agree that a couple are fantastic, but anybody with a DSLR, CS6, and a weekend can take/make shots like these. I am not even talking documentation, the perspective on some shots just isn't very good. Nose shots without any surrounding scenery or capturing many of the design features that make these planes special in a flattering perspective doesn't impress me.

That's why I am curious. Normally they do take thousands of shots, I am just surprised that out of that many, some of them that made the cut (10/xxxx) just don't seem very good, while others are fantastic.

It's hard to say, the video he has on the Aviator webpage seems to indicate that he took quite a few pictures. Also he seems to generally know what he's doing looking at his other pictures. If he's successful commercially, then I'm not going to question what he publishes and what he sells. =)
